Acceptable Use of Technology in the Classroom
This policy is designed to govern the use of and provide acceptable use guidelines for all Internet, electronic communications and digital media. Any misuse of the following guidelines will result in the loss of privileges with the use of technology in our classroom.

I understand and accept these guidelines for acceptable and unacceptable use of school technology. I have also discussed these guidelines with my parent(s) and understand the consequences of violating these guidelines.

This policy is designed to govern the use of and provide acceptable use guidelines for all Internet, electronic communications and digital media. Any misuse of the following guidelines will result in the loss of privileges with the use of technology in our classroom.
Expectations
Student Responsibilities
- Students will accept responsibility for all material received and sent under his/her user account.
- Students will accept responsibility for all Internet use under his/her account.
- Students will use the computers/technology as instructed to do so by the teacher.
- Students will follow all acceptable use policy guidelines as outlined by the school code of conduct and any other classroom guideline governing use of technology in the classroom.
- Parents will be notified of the school network and the policies governing its uses. Parents must sign this agreement to allow their student(s) to have an individual account.
- Parents have the right to investigate the contents of their student(s) email files at any time.
- Parents may request written copies of the acceptable use guidelines at any time.
- Parents are responsible for monitoring their student(s) use of the school’s network from home or during off site use.
- Acceptable Use is defined as use of school technology for purposes as assigned by the individual teacher.
- These may include but is not limited to: research, presentations, class emails, class discussion boards, use of school tablet computers, etc.
- The school reserves the right to amend these guidelines at any time.
- The following uses of technology are considered unacceptable:
- Use of inappropriate material including but not limited to pornographic, obscene, threatening, or sexually explicit materials.
- Use of inappropriate language including obscene, vulgar, racist, threatening, disrespectful, or sexually explicit language.
- Any illegal activity that violates any local, state, or federal law.
- Students will only log into their own account. Attempting to or logging onto another’s account is unacceptable.
- Use of social media, unless otherwise permitted by the instructor.
- Misuse of school technology may result in the suspension of school network use.
- Parents will be notified in writing of their student(s) error in judgment and consequence.
- Use of school technology will be reinstated at the end of the suspension period only if the written notice has been returned to the school complete with parent’s signature.
I understand and accept these guidelines for acceptable and unacceptable use of school technology. I have also discussed these guidelines with my parent(s) and understand the consequences of violating these guidelines.
